OpenRouter Connector
The ShareBuilder Assistant is expanding its AI workflow ecosystem with a new Connector that brings OpenRouter directly into the Assistant Skills platform. With the OpenRouter Connector, media teams can add flexible AI model access to their workflows, helping the Assistant summarize, classify, draft, research, and recommend next steps using the right model for the job.
About OpenRouter
OpenRouter provides a unified interface for accessing many AI models from multiple providers through a single API. OpenRouter describes its platform as “one API for any model,” with access to hundreds of models and automatic fallback options through one endpoint.
For media organizations, OpenRouter can help teams use AI more flexibly across sales, pricing, marketing, operations, and support workflows without locking every Skill into a single AI provider or model.
This is the OpenRouter Connector
The OpenRouter Connector brings multi-model AI access directly into your Assistant Skills. Instead of designing workflows around one model for every task, your team can use AI more strategically based on the type of work being done.
Some workflows may need fast summarization. Others may need deeper reasoning, structured extraction, research support, or content drafting. OpenRouter gives Skills a flexible way to support those different needs through a unified model layer.
Choose the right AI model for the workflow
Not every AI task is the same. A simple classification step does not need the same model as a complex recommendation, long account summary, or custom AI Agent.
With OpenRouter connected, Skills can support use cases like:
- Summarizing account history before seller follow-up
- Classifying inbound leads, requests, or campaign issues
- Drafting personalized outreach and internal updates
- Extracting key details from forms, emails, and notes
- Comparing context across systems before recommending action
- Testing different AI models for different workflow steps
This helps teams balance speed, quality, and cost across AI-assisted workflows.
Support custom AI Agents inside Skills
The OpenRouter Connector can help power custom AI Agents inside Assistant Skills. These Agents can reason across connected systems, evaluate business context, and recommend or execute the next step.
For example, a Skill could use an AI Agent to review a stalled opportunity, summarize CRM activity, evaluate pricing context, check engagement signals, and recommend a follow-up strategy. Another Skill could analyze an inbound request and route it to sales, pricing, fulfillment, or leadership based on the details provided.
This turns automation into informed execution.
Create a flexible AI layer across your workflow ecosystem
OpenRouter becomes especially useful when combined with ShareBuilder CRM, Pricing, Data Enrichment, and other connectors. The Assistant can pull context from multiple systems, then use the appropriate model to summarize, draft, classify, or recommend action.
That means AI output is not generic. It is grounded in the information your team already uses to manage accounts, revenue, pricing, and execution.
Improve reliability with model flexibility
AI workflows need to be dependable. OpenRouter’s documentation highlights model routing, provider normalization, and fallback support through a unified API, which can help reduce dependence on a single model path.
For Assistant Skills, that flexibility can support more resilient AI-assisted workflows as model availability, cost, and performance change over time.
Keep humans in control when needed
AI should support decision-making, not remove oversight.
With Assistant Skills, OpenRouter can support human-in-the-loop workflows where the Assistant summarizes, drafts, classifies, or recommends, then pauses for review before action is taken. Your team can approve messages, validate recommendations, or adjust next steps before anything moves forward.
This gives your organization the benefits of flexible AI-assisted execution while keeping people in control of important decisions.
Assistant Skills
Skills are the workflows you train the ShareBuilder Assistant to run for your team. Create a Skill and the Assistant executes playbooks, coordinates processes, updates systems, and communicates across platforms automatically.
Availability
ShareBuilders plans to offer Assistant Skills in a limited beta preview to select customers in early Q2 2026, followed by broader availability shortly thereafter. Assistant Skills will be sold as a standalone product with predictable pricing using a single flat fee rather than per-step, per-user, or per-workflow charges.
