Stripe Connector for ShareBuilder Assistant Skills

The ShareBuilder Assistant is expanding its payment workflow ecosystem with a Connector that brings Stripe directly into the Assistant Skills platform. With the Stripe Connector, teams can manage customer records, coordinate payment intents, work with invoices, and handle refunds as part of larger business workflows.

About Stripe

Stripe is a payments platform used by businesses to accept and manage payments, store customer information, issue invoices, and return funds when needed. Its APIs give organizations a structured way to connect payment operations with the systems and processes that surround the transaction.

For media organizations, payment activity rarely stands alone. A payment may begin with a contract, sponsorship, event, digital service, production project, or other customer commitment. The financial transaction then needs to connect with CRM records, internal communication, fulfillment, reporting, and customer follow-up.

This is the Stripe Connector

The Stripe Connector brings guided Stripe payment operations directly into Assistant Skills.

Teams can create and maintain Stripe customers, build and manage payment intents, find payment methods and charges, create and finalize invoices, and issue or review refunds. A general authorized API-call action is also available for advanced Stripe operations that are not represented by a guided component.

The current connector is action-based. It does not include Stripe event or webhook triggers, so workflows should begin from another Assistant Skills trigger, a schedule, or an approved process step.

Create and maintain Stripe customers

Reliable payment workflows begin with the correct customer record.

The connector can create a Stripe customer with contact, billing, shipping, and payment-method information. It can search or list customers, retrieve one customer by ID, update customer details, and permanently delete a customer when an authorized workflow requires it.

A Skill could use those actions to:

  • create a Stripe customer after a CRM opportunity or agreement reaches the right stage
  • find an existing customer before starting a payment workflow
  • keep selected customer details aligned with another connected system
  • retrieve billing context for an internal review
  • route a deletion request through an approval step before completing it

This gives teams a controlled way to connect customer setup with the rest of the revenue process.

Coordinate payment intents from authorization through capture

Stripe Payment Intents track the lifecycle of a payment.

The connector can create a Payment Intent using an amount, currency, customer, payment method, description, and supported payment-method settings. It can then retrieve or search Payment Intents, confirm an existing intent, capture an authorized payment, or cancel an intent that should not continue.

Both automatic capture and manual capture workflows are supported. For manual capture, the workflow can capture the full authorized amount or a specified partial amount.

That can support workflows such as:

  • prepare a payment after an approved customer commitment
  • confirm a payment using an existing Stripe payment method
  • hold an authorization until a manager or fulfillment step approves capture
  • capture only the approved amount
  • cancel an incomplete or no-longer-valid payment
  • look up payment status for customer service or reconciliation

Customer-facing checkout and any required authentication still take place through the appropriate Stripe payment experience. Assistant Skills coordinates the connected business workflow around those payment operations.

Find payment methods and charges

Payment operations often need context before the next action can be selected.

The Stripe Connector can list payment methods for a customer and payment-method type. It can also find charges, optionally filtering by customer or Payment Intent.

A Skill could use that information to find the appropriate payment record, prepare an internal summary, support reconciliation, or determine which charge should be reviewed before a refund is created.

This reduces the need for teams to search Stripe manually when the payment information is part of a larger workflow.

Create and finalize customer invoices

The connector can create an invoice for an existing Stripe customer and configure key collection details, including whether Stripe should charge automatically or send the invoice for payment. It can also search or list invoices, retrieve an invoice by ID, and finalize a draft invoice so it is ready for payment.

That can support use cases such as:

  • create an invoice after an approved order or service request
  • use a due date or payment window for send-invoice workflows
  • find existing invoices before creating follow-up work
  • retrieve invoice status for a customer or internal team
  • pause for review before finalizing a draft invoice

The connector does not currently include guided actions for adding invoice items, sending an invoice, paying an invoice, or managing subscriptions. Those capabilities should not be assumed in a workflow without separate validation.

Handle refunds with clear workflow context

The Stripe Connector can create a refund for a specific charge, with an optional refund amount and reason. It can also search or list refunds and retrieve the details of an existing refund.

A Skill could gather the original CRM, order, campaign, or customer-service context, request approval, issue the refund, and then notify the appropriate teams or update connected records.

That can help organizations standardize refund handling while keeping financial decisions visible and traceable.

Use an authorized Stripe API call for advanced needs

For technically managed workflows, the connector includes an action that can make an authorized request to the Stripe API using a selected endpoint, HTTP method, headers, parameters, and request body.

This provides flexibility when a required Stripe operation is not available as a guided action. Because it exposes a broader API surface, it should be configured by qualified administrators and tested carefully before use in a live financial workflow.

Connect payment work with CRM, approvals, and communication

Stripe becomes more useful when payment activity is connected to the systems where customer and operational work happens.

Assistant Skills can combine Stripe actions with ShareBuilder CRM, forms, email, Microsoft Teams, reporting, approvals, and other connectors. A workflow could begin from an approved CRM opportunity, find or create the Stripe customer, prepare a payment or invoice, pause for review, and then record the result in the connected systems that need it.

This helps teams reduce manual handoffs while keeping customer, payment, and internal workflow context together.

Assistant Skills

Skills are the workflows you train the ShareBuilder Assistant to run for your team. Create a Skill and the Assistant executes playbooks, coordinates processes, updates systems, and communicates across platforms automatically.

Availability

The Stripe Connector supports authorized Assistant Skills actions for customers, payment intents, payment methods, charges, invoices, refunds, and advanced Stripe API requests. A Stripe API key with the permissions required by the selected actions is needed to create the connection. Test or live behavior depends on the Stripe key and account used.

The current connector does not include Stripe event triggers or webhook subscriptions.
